LTAC Funding

Studio & Gallery received LTAC funding for The Bizarre Bazaar, a holiday marketplace showcasing local artists and their work. Funding allowed 14 local artists to sell their creations in their crowded local holiday marketplace and drastically reduced the upfront cost of partaking in the event by providing entry scholarships. It also allowed Studio & to pay artists for their time to produce the event. In addition, funds went towards facility improvements, which improved the effectiveness and efficiency of the gallery on a daily basis.

The Bizarre Bazaar is an annual Holiday Sale held for 3 days at Studio & Gallery, which took place December 12-14, 2025. The “BizBaz” provided space for 17 artists to sell their creations and gave the public the opportunity to buy gifts directly from the people who made them. This event offered our community ethically produced, locally made, creative gifts and is a source of fun and inspiration for participants and attendees.

Studio & Gallery started the BizBaz event in 2011 when there were few existing venues for local artists to sell their work during the holidays. Over the years and through sustained effort, the event has become a mainstay of the holiday season and an event that the public looks forward to as a tradition of the season. The BizBaz has been placing the spotlight directly on local artists since 2011, maximizing their efforts to make a living. Holiday vending is a huge source of revenue for local artists, and the BizBaz is one of the most popular events amongst Durango’s artists and shoppers alike. It is now a sought-after event for the arts community, which, up until now, has been done with 100% volunteer power by the artist/owners of the gallery.

Studio & is a prominent and beloved community gallery in downtown Durango that serves as a hub for local artists and creativity as a whole. It has been the heart of the Durango art scene for 15 years.
