Music in the Mountains received LTAC funding to offset direct costs of the Music in the Mountains 2025 Summer Festival, enabling free and low-cost programs to enrich our community, attract visitors, and make exceptional music accessible to all—an investment in both culture and economic sustainability.

Music in the Mountains is a premier summer classical music festival that brings together approximately 100 world-class musicians from around the country and the world to perform in Durango. 2025 marked its 39th season, as the Festival enriches the region with exceptional music while fostering accessibility and inclusiveness through free and low-cost events.

Music in the Mountains transforms lives through music, strengthens the local economy, and ensures that residents of Southwest Colorado—young and old—can access world-class performances and educational opportunities without leaving the region.
