Durango Creative District Events
From Poem To Song with Larry Bourland
DURANGO FREE EVENT
Every poem has a heartbeat.
Sometimes it simply needs someone to help it find its music.
Join me for an evening exploring The Studio Method—a practical, artist-first approach to transforming your own poetry into original songs using today’s creative tools while keeping one guiding principle at the center:
Never leave the poet behind.
Whether you’ve written for decades or have a single poem tucked away in a drawer, this workshop is about discovering new possibilities, honoring your own voice, and learning a process you can continue long after the evening ends.
Bring your curiosity. Bring a poem if you have one. Most of all, bring yourself.

This program is a summer collab between Seed Studio and me, with visits from amazing local artists like Ted Moore, Mariah Kaminsky, Heather Freeman, and more. Huge thanks to all of them and to Durango Creative District and the City’s Lodgers’ Tax: Arts and Culture Fund for backing it.
