In 2015, the inaugural iAM MUSIC Fest! launched to unite and showcase hardworking independent musicians (as well as artists, dancers, comedians, poets, circus performers, and local businesses). In return, the funds raised from this event were recycled and used to benefit iAM MUSIC’s efforts to provide zero-obstacle music education and access to music in the Four Corners Region.
iAM MUSIC received LATC funding to cover the costs related to iAM MUSIC Fest 2024, including production expenses, talent expenses, and lodging. Held in Durango from May 2nd to May 5th, this event marks the ninth edition of iAM MUSIC’s annual music festival. As one of Durango's largest music festivals, it takes place on the Second Avenue blocks of Main Avenue, the Durango Art Center, Lolas Place, and at IAM MUSIC's headquarters.
iAM MUSIC is an ecosystem founded by artists for artists, serving the greater Durango community as a non-profit for 11 years as of 2024. They empower and connect youth, elevate and showcase career-minded musicians, and host events to stimulate the local creative economy. They also cultivate artists with a focus on social entrepreneurship. The collaborative music ecosystem model sustains a powerful network of organic relationships that will spark the fire in the next generation of young musicians in our local, regional, and global community.
