San Juan Symphony received LATC funding for musician fees.
The San Juan Symphony Family Concert was an all-ages event that took place in Durango, Colorado. The two shows were on Saturday, May 18th, at 4:00 PM at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College and Sunday, May 19th, at 2:00 PM at Henderson Performance Hall at San Juan College.
During the 2024 season, the Music Director, Thomas Heuser, presented a full orchestra consisting of 50 professional musicians and introduced the audience to the sounds of orchestra music through the silly and engaging tales of Lemony Snicket in "The Conductor is Dead!" They also presented their popular pre-concert instrument petting zoo in the lobby for one hour before each performance, where everyone will have a chance to meet our musicians and try their hands at string, percussion, woodwind, and brass instruments, creating a fun-filled afternoon of culture, education, and family fun. This was a reduced ticket event; all seats were only $5.
